40 - Return to Sanity ft. Matthew Sands

Had a great time hearing from Matthew. It could be the British accent, but I could have kept listening for hours. I may try to do another one and go deeper on some of these topics, but this was a great foundational discussion about the NAP and self-ownership.

Video goes live 8am PT 3/20/25!

Catch Up on Drop The Mask!

Here's 7 minutes of clips from my interviews that give you a good idea what the show is about. I try to focus on bigger picture ideas rather than what's going on in the news. Looking from a high level at how we can talk to people about liberty, how to navigate in a world of fake news, and what human nature can reveal about why people fall for bad actors and ideas.

Find the full 2-part reflection series (episodes 38 & 39) in my 'Content' section or in posts below!

Exclusive 4 - Socialism is Bananas

Ludwig Von Mises published Socialism: An Economic and Sociological Analysis in 1951. His warnings are just as apt as they were then. Socialists will tell you that "real socialism has never been tried". But even if we accept that as true, one can readily see that 'almost' socialism has plunged entire nations into death and despair. So when Americans like Robert Reich advocate for even just a few more socialized government programs, you ought to have the same visceral reaction you would if he were advocating another Holocaust.

Here's a selection of what Mises had to say:

"The socialist idea dominates the modern spirit. The masses approve of it, it expresses the thoughts and feelings of all; it has set its seal upon our time. When history comes to tell our story it will write above the chapter ‘The Epoch of Socialism’.

As yet, it is true, Socialism has not created a society which can be said to represent its ideal. But for more than a generation the policies of civilized nations have been ...

"If By Whiskey" - Rebranding 'Consciously Unmasked'

My collaboration with Mark Puls has a new name! Our first venture with the new name is below. Here's the explanation of the name:

The rhetorical gymnastics employed by politicians and media is something to behold-- the diabolical brilliance of which is captured by the phrase “If By Whiskey”.
It refers to a speech given by Mississippi State Rep. Noah “Soggy” Sweat Jr., where he simultaneously takes the pro and con on the issue of prohibition:

"If when you say whiskey you mean the devil's brew, the poison scourge, the bloody monster, that defiles innocence, dethrones reason, destroys the home, creates misery and poverty, yea, literally takes the bread from the mouths of little children; if you mean the evil drink that topples the Christian man and woman from the pinnacle of righteous, gracious living into the bottomless pit of degradation, and despair, and shame and helplessness, and hopelessness, then certainly I am against it. "

The 1952 address is a masterclass in saying a lot...

The League of Ordinary Gentlemen/Frens (LIVE 3/13/25)

I join Mark Puls (Knocked Conscious), Zak Kisor and Andrew Joseph (LEGACY Right), and Shaun Collins (Buds N' Reality) for our monthly hang. We bring up Roger Ver first, who's being targeted by the US government for telling the truth; and then we discuss leadership - what makes a good leader and what does an excellent leader do above others.

Plus a hundred other tangents. It's fun!

Joined Mark Puls for an impromptu live session (Jan 13 2025)

We talked about the LA fires, the woke elements and got into some economic questions. I needed the practice going off the cuff, I think I'm getting a little bit better.
